By the community,

for the community.

Since the success of the first ever Tattenham Corner Community Christmas Tree in 2015, the lighting of the tree has grown in size and numbers. Today the lighting of the tree is accompanied by a mini festive market  filled with gift, craft and information stalls, festive fun activities as well as performances from local choirs and bands. Known as Tattenham Corner Community Christmas, the event is a way of bringing our community together, but also a celebration of the local talents, skills and businesses.

The 2019 Tattenham Corner Community Christmas was held on Saturday 30th November 4-6:30pm, thankfully a dry but cold wintery evening.

This year we are brought back the much loved 'Sheep Trail' for children, which runs until 20th December 2019. Please pick up a sheet from the library or download the sheet here or use the 'Sheep Trail button below.

In addition we launched the  'Best Dressed Festive Window' competition for the public to vote on the shop wndows at Tattenham Corner.

Voting took place during the event and the joint winners Pattisons and Howards Electrical, were announced at the close of the event.

Another difference this year was our special guests chosen for their artistic skills creating the best baubles for our community tree. Niamh and Toby from Shawley Community Primary School were joined by Nancy from Banstead Bunnies Pre-School to switch on Tattenham Corner Christmas at 5:15pm. After a verse of 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas' accompanied by the Banstead District Scout Band, the tree erupted with colourful lights and baubles of a variety of shapes, colours and sizes all created by children from: Years Reception, 3 and 4 of Shawley Community Primary School, Epsom Downs Primary School, Little Jax Pre-School, Banstead Bunnies Pre-school and St.Marks Messy Church.
